April Newsletter
Conferences
It was great to see so many of you at conferences. Your interest, support and participation are extremely important to the children and help impress upon them the value of teamwork and education. We’ve accomplished a lot so far this year and have so much more to do and learn! Please help your child continue to put first things first like learning and schoolwork during the busy spring season.
ITBS
This year ITBS will be taken April 11-15. Now that it is spring time, it is important that students continue to put first things first. During this week, students should get a good night’s rest and eat a hearty breakfast. Testing will begin promptly at 8:30. In addition, we would like to have a small snack prior to the test to ensure our brains are well fed. If you would like to contribute, please check yes at the bottom and return with your student.
Science
We began a new Foss unit: Water. In this unit, students will observe and explore the properties of water in its different states; look at components of the water cycle; and investigate how water can be used to do work to name a few of the goals. In addition, students will learn new vocabulary as they record their observations in writing and in pictures.
Social Studies
Students will be learning about different types of communities and what makes up a community. Students will learn about taxes, good and services, rules and laws, and city government.
